Jacob Fink, Illinois EPA Office of Site Evaluation, Brownfield Program Administrator
Mr. Fink started his role as Brownfield Program Administrator in September 2023. Prior to accepting his position, Mr. Fink worked in the Office of Site Evaluation for five years creating reports and performing field work for CERCLA, Brownfield, and LUST projects. As the Brownfield Program Manager, he is responsible for public outreach to market the Agency’s services, reviewing and approving Targeted Brownfield Assessment applications, and administering the Agency’s Revolving Loan Fund. He works with interested Municipalities, Environmental Contractors, and non-profits towards redevelopment of unused or underutilized properties. Mike Ciserella, Founding Partner & Principal, Cantera Development Group, LLC
Mike Ciserella has over 35 years of professional environmental consulting and real estate development, construction and management experience. Mike participates in virtually every aspect of the company including property selection and acquisition, project finance and insurance, remediation evaluation and oversight, predevelopment planning, site development/construction and asset management. After graduating from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mike worked for Shell Oil Company in New Orleans as a petroleum engineer. With the advent of the Underground Storage Tank Regulations and Responsible Property Transfer Act in Illinois, Mike and his partner started Pioneer Engineering & Environmental Services, LLC in 1989. For 35 years, Pioneer has been providing comprehensive environmental consulting and remediation services, geotechnical investigation and engineering services and construction materials testing services. |
Eddie Adler, Director of Business Development, Cantera Development Group, LLC
Eddie Adler’s responsibilities at Cantera include sourcing development opportunities and negotiating transactions. Eddie graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Political Science and brings over 30 years of real estate expertise, including development, acquisition, disposition, and due diligence knowledge, to his role at Cantera. Previously, Eddie held the role of EVP at The Missner Group, LLC, overseeing the firm's real estate development projects from site identification through completion. Additionally, Eddie was responsible for managing the acquisition of real estate properties on behalf of the company, directing the identification, evaluation, and negotiation of deals. |
