Over the past few years, the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County (FPDDC) has completed upwards of 7,500 lineal feet of creek restoration among their various properties. Definitive challenges were encountered during these projects. The logic behind the project needs will be of interest to many IAEP members. Scott Meister (FPDDC) managed these projects and will provide insights into how these projects were identified, managed and completed. Supporting Scott will be Ryan Allison (Cardno) who will be discussing implementation of construction restoration strategies and associated technologies. Pre-registration is required. Scott Meister, CWB Scott Meister is the Manager of Natural Resources for the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County and has been on staff since 2002. Scott has a passion for wildlife and began his career as an ecologist. He continues to participate and administer programs that restore habitat and promote wildlife diversity in DuPage County including multiple stream restoration projects. Scott has a B.S. in Natural Resources from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an M.S. in Zoology from Southern Illinois University. He is a Certified Wildlife Biologist through The Wildlife Society and has served as President of The Wildlife Society’s Illinois Chapter.
Ryan Allison As a Senior Project Scientist, Mr. Allison is responsible for designing, managing, and implementing large and technically complex habitat restoration projects. His clients include private landowners, corporations, and various government entities. Recently, Mr. Allison has managed restoration projects associated with large remediation projects on the Genesee, Grasse, Hudson and Buffalo rivers in the state of New York. He also recently completed oversight on a mitigation project that included 160 acres of dune and swale restoration for the Gary Chicago International Airport. He earned his BS in natural resources and environmental science/water quality and wetlands from Purdue University in 2000. Mr. Allison is a leader of Cardno’s Restoration Services business.
Brian J. Wozniak, P.E. Brian Wozniak currently serves as the President of IAEP. His primary role is as Office Director for Andrews Engineering’s Lombard office. Over his career, he has developed into a diversified engineer/operations manager accomplished in fulfilling roles in the fields of consultancy and operations with backgrounds in civil, environmental and waste. He possess a strong background in waste management facility operations and is an experienced leader. His technical experience includes overseeing solid waste facility operations, environmental compliance, site development and expansion, and construction planning and oversight services. He am an active member in several environmental and waste industry associations. He maintains well-developed industry and regulatory contacts and an extensive knowledge of trends and regulations that govern client properties and operations.
