PFAS Due Diligence State-of-the-Industry Roundtable Tuesday, October 29, 2024
Please join the Illinois Association of Environmental Professionals (IAEP) as we host our 2024 Annual Meeting and PFAS Due Diligence State-of-the-Industry Roundtable on October 29, 2024 at Maggiano’s in Schaumburg, Illinois. Following our business meeting and annual board elections, IAEP will facilitate an interactive dialogue between our panel of six leading experts from legal, real estate, and consulting arenas who are actively working on PFAS issues.
It has now been several months that the environmental due diligence industry has been managing under the US EPA’s new final rule designating two per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (“PFAS”), namely perfluorooctanoic acid (“PFOA”) and perfluorooactanesulfonic acid (“PFOS”), as ‘hazardous substances’ under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (“CERCLA”). This rule will make PFOA and PFOS contamination subject to reporting, investigation, remediation, and monitoring requirements under CERCLA and has already impacted due diligence efforts in corporate transactions and real estate transactions.
This peer-to-peer roundtable is designed to help consultants, real estate developers, and attorneys alike proactively plan and manage the current (and likely future) legal, financial, and technical challenges that PFAS presents to the real estate sector. This meeting will also serve as IAEP’s Annual Meeting. In the due course of the meeting, we will be reviewing the Association’s financial statement, past and upcoming events, along with the proposed slate of officers and Board members for 2025.
IAEP will provide a certificate for 1.5 Professional Development Hours to event attendee at the conclusion of this event. It is the responsibility of the attendee to determine if this course meets the requirements of professional development for each license and state of licensure for which the attendee is claiming continuing education credit.
Refunds are allowed with cancellation 48 hours prior to this seminar. Substitutes are permitted for corporate members.
